Indiana Tornadoes Leave 1 Dead, Destroy Homes

Numbers of people were injured in Indiana overnight after tornadoes and five inches of rain hit portions of the state. One death was confirmed, that of a woman whose car became trapped in flood waters in Henry County.

A number of homes were destroyed and buildings at a military training base were also damaged.

In the town of Moscow in Rush County, at least eight people were injured, one critically, when a tornado passed through. There were also reports of downed power lines and downed trees from the storm.

The overnight storms damaged more than three dozen buildings at the Indiana National Guard’s Camp Atterbury near Edinburgh.

Flash floods closed numerous roads from Terre Haute through Indianapolis to Richmond.
