Navigators Offering NAV PAC Umbrella Unit

The Navigators Group Inc. announced that the NAV PAC division of its principal underwriting agency subsidiary, Navigators Management Company, has launched the NAV PAC Umbrella business unit, to be known as NAV PAC Umbrella and Excess. NAV PAC focuses on commercial accounts produced by retail insurance agents.

Claudia Jonas has joined Navigators as vice president of this new business unit and will be based in the company’s Irvine, California office. Jonas has middle markets business experience and will help to expand NAV PAC’s presence in the market.

Jeff Saunders, president of the Navigators Excess Casualty division, said, “I am pleased that Claudia has joined us to lead this initiative. With her background and experience, she will be a great fit for our strong underwriting culture. Her focus on retail agents and brokers will enable Navigators to expand its offerings and build a more diversified commercial umbrella portfolio while continuing to meet the needs of our core wholesale brokerage plant.”

James Caragher, president of the Company’s NAV PAC division, commented, “The umbrella business is a natural extension of our product suite to the independent agency plant.
