Family of Wal-mart Employee Killed Decides to Sue

The number of lawsuits against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. increased by one today as the family of the part-time employee killed in last week's post-Thanksgiving incident at a Long Island, N.Y. store is suing.

The lawsuit, which seeks unspecified damages, follows the Black Friday event when shoppers surged through a Wal-mart at 5 a.m., knocking a number of people to the ground.

Jdimytai Damour, 34, who had been assigned to work security as an independent contractor, was knocked to the ground by the crowd and trampled to death.

The lawsuit also implicates the shopping mall where the incident occurred and the security company employed by Wal-Mart.

Two shoppers who were at Wal-mart at the time of the incident are also suing the company (dailyinsurer.blogspot.com/2008/12/wal-mart-being-sued-following-fatality.html).

I read this in the paper as well. Shows how incredibly dumb people can be. I wish they had names of those who stampeded.
