A new study just released says last summer's deadly Utah mine accident lasted only a few seconds and was not the result of an earthquake.
The collapse at the Crandall Canyon mine claimed the lives of six miners. Monday's release of the University of Utah study goes against owner Bob Murray's claims regarding a quake caused a portion of the mine to collapse.
Not only did the initial collapse kill six miners on Aug. 6, but three rescuers were killed 10 days later in another collapse.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration has initiated its own investigation into why the mine collapsed.
