Massachusetts AG Takes Bite out of Dentist

The Massachusetts Attorney General's office is attempting to close down a local dentist for good.

Massachusetts AG Martha Coakley is suing Dr. Gary Anusavice and 14 other individuals for allegedly scamming patients into dental procedures that they did not require and could not afford. Anusavice had reportedly already lost his license to practice in Rhode Island.

According to the AG's office, Anusavice, who has been issued a temporary restraining order from practicing in Massachusetts, was using new offices under different names to stay in business. He reportedly was most recently going by the names "Coast Dental" in Fall River and "Sierra Dental" in Weymouth.

Court affidavits claim that in one case, a female patient went in asking for fillings and, "Over the course of the next five and a half hours, from about 4:30 to 10 p.m., he extracted two of my teeth, did six root canals, and placed multiple temporary crowns."

The service, which the woman was reportedly originally told would cost $396, turned into a bill for $15,631.

People are going to dentists for complete tooth care and if dentist do such things the belief on doctors will be lost and they will become work less.If they cant afford why do they promise their patients.
