Attorney General Tom Corbett said that many consumers complained that A Plus Family Movers lost or damaged their personal belongings. Also, A Plus allegedly repeatedly underestimated the cost of their services and demanded higher fees be paid upon delivery.
Corbett also said that A Plus allegedly failed to respond to customer complaints in a timely manner.
According to the Assurance of Voluntary Compliance (AVC), A Plus Family Movers will pay restitution for Pennsylvania consumers who paid excessive fees for residential moving services and for damage to their personal property.
A Plus has also agreed to:
- Ensure additional supervision on all moving services provided.
- Provide additional training to all employees on the moving process, including making estimates.
- Maintain policies to ensure timely responses to consumer complaints.

Great to hear that the family won! there is a lot of moving companies out there like that it seems. Many like to harass the customers near the end of the move saying there was a lot more stuff to move and we need to charge more! Just stay firm with them and don't pay them extra. The movers should have enough experience already not too miss quote.
