Firefighters Arrested for Allegedly Starting Fires

Authorities in western Arizona say that four firefighters and two others were arrested for allegedly starting between 15 and 20 fires to make money.

According to authorities in LaPaz County, the fires were set between last January and last week. The fires took place in abandoned trailer homes, open land and in expensive haystacks owned by farmers. While there were no injuries, the most expensive fire destroyed a $200,000 haystack.

The firefighters reportedly admitted to starting the blazes to make money. The firefighters receive $10 an hour per fire, and haystack fires can last days.
