Final Day to Register for Missouri Disaster Aid

Monday, Jan. 12, 2009 is the last day for individuals and businesses in Missouri that suffered damage from severe storms, flooding and a tornado in mid-September to apply for assistance.

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) officials encourage all residents and business owners with disaster-related damage in the designated counties (Boone, Callaway, Chariton, Howell, Jefferson, Lewis, Lincoln, Linn, Marion, Montgomery, Osage, Schuyler, St. Charles, St. Louis, Stone, Taney, Texas, and Webster counties and the Independent City of St. Louis) to register for assistance.

Call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585 to register. Lines are open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Register online at www.disasterassistance.gov.

The deadline to submit loan applications to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is also Jan. 12, 2009. SBA loan applications are a key part of the FEMA registration process. If you are a homeowner or renter and SBA determines your cannot afford a loan, you may be referred for other eligible assistance.

The U.S. Small Business Administration Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC), in University City (7210 Olive Blvd., University City, Mo. 63130) will end operations at the close of business Monday, Jan. 12, 2009. Hours of operation will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
