'95 Honda Civic Remains Most Stolen Auto

The 1995 Honda Civic has again taken the top prize as the most stolen car in the United States, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB).

On a brighter note, the numbers say that auto theft seems to have declined dramatically for the fourth year in a row. Overall, vehicle theft dropped 8.9% in 2007, according to the FBI's preliminary Uniform Crime Report.

In its annual "Hot Wheels" report, the NICB reported the '95 Civic was followed by the '91 Honda Accord, the '89 Toyota Camry and the '97 Ford F-150 as the nation's most stolen cars in 2007. The top four on the list are unchanged from 2006. For the fourth year in a row, the '95 Civic was in the top 10.

Isn't it amazing that a 13 year old car can still have such popularity among thieves. I guess those car parts are reallllly valuable. They are not stealing it for the cool ride or else they would go for a mercedes or porche.
