Doc Sued for Placing Temporary Tattoo on Woman

According to a lawsuit filed yesterday in Camden County, a South Jersey area woman is suing her orthopedic surgeon for reportedly placing a tattoo below her panty line while she was undergoing surgery for a herniated disc.

The red rose tattoo was reportedly placed on Elizabeth Mateo by Dr. Steven Kirshner as she was under anesthesia.

Kirshner's lawyer reportedly claims the doctor does not deny placing the tattoo on the woman. He reportedly has done this before, leaving washable marks on patients to help improve their spirits following a procedure.

The lawsuit, which does not name Virtua Memorial Hospital where the procedure was performed, seeks punitive and compensatory damages from the doctor.
