UPDATE: Congo Plane Crash Kills Scores

An undetermined number of people were killed Tuesday as a passenger plane crashed and burst into flames shortly after takeoff in Goma, part of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

With reports of at least 100 people on board, only six survivors were reportedly located to date. The DC-9 jet was flying to the capital of Kinshasa when it went down in a market area. Several people on the ground when the plane hit were also killed.

This was the fifth fatal plane incident in DR Congo in less than a year.
