Severe storms left more than 200 people injured in Virginia on Monday, with Gov. Tim Kaine declaring a state emergencyReports say that the majority of injuries were in Suffolk, where a reported tornado destroyed a number of homes and businesses shortly before 4 p.m. EST. Another storm, which may have included a tornado, hit in the Colonial Heights area, near Richmond. Thousands of Virginia Dominion Power customers were reportedly without service following the storms.
A tornado warning over the area will remain in effect Monday evening.
