Police in Amsterdam, New York say they have arrested a woman and charged her in the case of a motorcyclist who died while driving through town earlier this month.
While the motorcycle was reportedly speeding, authorities say Georgeanna M. Crisalli, 57, was charged with throwing a beer can at David Rivera, 50, of Fort Plain who was riding his motorcycle. Rivera then ran into a car at the intersection of Union Street and Glen Avenue and later died from his injuries at St. Mary's Hospital.
Rivera reportedly was distracted by the thrown beer can and swerved into the car.
Crisalli could face up to seven years in prison. The driver of the car Rivera collided with was not injured.
