UPDATE: Severe Storms Impact Several States

The nation's heartland took a punch from Mother Nature on Thursday as severe thunderstorms, flooding and tornadoes hit parts of Arkansas, Missouri and Texas.

Snow even descended on parts of Colorado and Nebraska, which was forecasted to get up to 10 inches.

In Texas, high winds and heavy rains left thousands without electricity. At least 100 homes and businesses were reportedly damaged. in the Dallas-Forth Worth area and Western Texas. One Dallas-area school reportedly suffered more than $100,000 worth of damage to its athletic facilities, lighting and roofing.

In Missouri, 3-4 inches of rain came down in just a few hours, resulting in flash floods that engulfed parts of more than 100 roads across the state.

Arkansas was not spared, as the state was hit with heavy rains and floods, with the threat of tornadoes still a possibility. A tornado warning at Little Rock International Airport suspended flights for about an hour.
