Recent insurance reform legislation, and most specifically the creation of the Florida reinsurance fund, is resulting in great turmoil in insurance markets and great confusion for homeowners -- who simply want a trusted, cost-efficient way to insure the value of their most important investment -- their homes," said Carl Moulton, president of FloridaHomeInsurers.com Inc. "This program proves that consumers will seek out local specialists for help, and FloridaHomeInsurers.com intends to be the provider of choice to help Floridians in need."
FloridaHomeInsurers.com is an alliance of independent multi-line insurance agencies drawn together as a cooperative to generate homeowners' insurance leads primarily via the Internet. The leads are then electronically distributed to local independent insurance agents in the home county of the inquiring party so that the insurance quote request, and insurance policy, can be locally purchased and serviced.
"We intend to deliver a better insurance experience for Florida homeowners and investors than exists in this market today," said Moulton. "We intend to compete aggressively to serve Floridians with better values and significantly higher service levels than the 'big boys' like Geico, Progressive and Esurance."
Since its soft opening in 2007, executives and organizers have been committed to fine-tuning the online insurance solution. "Everything that we do is geared to the wants and needs of Florida homeowners in need of insurance," said Moulton. "Our research shows that the independent insurance agency delivery system is under attack by direct writers, and none of those providers is delivering the service level we are committed to. We intend to match or exceed them with our breadth of products, technological innovations, and local servicing. FloridaHomeInsurers.com will deliver the entire package to our customers."
"While many companies are shutting down or pulling out of the Florida homeowner's insurance market, Florida Home Insurers is committed to providing the best available coverage for the money," Moulton said. "We're here to serve Florida."

I have read that many FL insurance carriers are trying to leave the state. It makes me wonder how those agents for those carriers must feel.
