Maryland authorities say a former Frederick County volunteer firefighter is being charged with orchestrating more than a dozen fires over more than a decade.
Wayne Duncan, 28, was arrested at his home in Jefferson after reportedly admitting to being behind at least 13 fires over the past 11 years and calling 911 to report them.
Police say Duncan was behind a fire late last month at H.C. Summers Feed Store in Jefferson where flames and smoke resulted in more than $750,000 in damage. Earlier this month, another fire he allegedly set sent three people to the hospital and killed the family's dog.
Duncan is charged with arson, reckless endangerment and burglary. He may also face additional charges of starting a fire at his own home.
