Plane Brought Down By Mice in Connecticut

A Connecticut man claims he's been informed that mice were the reason his small plane crashed into a North Stonington river last week.

Danny Hall of Torrington was piloting a 1968 single-engine Cessna that went down in the Pawcatuck River after the engine failed about two miles from a nearby airport. Hall suffered minor injuries in the crash.

According to investigators, mice had constructed a nest in the plane and when Hall pulled a device that prevents icing, the mice and their nest got pulled into the carburetor, resulting in the engine seizing up.

No word on if the plane was able to be salvaged or if Hall had insurance on the Cessna.
