N.C. Agent Turns Himself In; Forged Signature

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Jim Long announced the arrest of Christopher Day Church, Jr., 27, of Winston-Salem.

Church turned himself in to the Guilford County Magistrates Office and was charged with one count of obtaining property by false pretense. He was released under a written promise to appear in court.

Department of Insurance investigators allege the following: Church, a licensed insurance agent, represented himself as the agent of record and forged his colleague’s signature on a life insurance policy with Genworth Life Insurance Company in order to receive some $1,100 in commissions on the sale.
