The State of Florida and Aon Corp. have reportedly come to a $4 million settlement, according to a statement released by Florida officials on Friday.
Aon reportedly received undisclosed compensation related to the placement of insurance coverage on behalf of state policyholders.
The settlement reached today is reportedly between the insurer and the state's insurance regulator, Florida Department of Financial Services, the Florida Department of Legal Affairs and the state's attorney general.
Aon, under the deal reached between the parties, will pay Florida $2.6 million to reimburse impacted policyholders, along with reimbursing state agencies $1.4 million related to fees and costs.
The paying of the money is expected within 10 days.
