A couple hundred firefighters are on the scene and more are on the way as a wildfire threatens residents and homes in California's Santa Cruz Mountains. Reports say some buildings have been destroyed in this Central California locale and some residents have been told to leave.
Winds up to 40 mph and large amounts of brush and timber were hindering firefighters battling the blaze, which was first reported in the early morning hours.
Residents in the Mount Madonna area were ordered to evacuate as the fire crept closer to Eureka Canyon.
Reports say the blaze has increased to around 2,000 acres.
