RIMS Hosts Webinar on ERM Programs July 9

The Risk and Insurance Management Society Inc. (RIMS) will present a free one-hour webinar covering C-suite needs and enterprise risk management (ERM) programs.

The webinar is hosted in conjunction with the Stanford Center for Professional Development and Strategic Decisions Group. Complete details are online at www.RIMS.org/ERMwebinar.

“The C-suite is now, more than ever, paying attention to its organizations’ methods and processes for dealing with risk and uncertainty—and ERM is top of mind,” says Janet Barnes, member of RIMS Board of Directors and risk manager for Snohomish County Public Utility District No.1. “This webinar will provide a tested framework to quantify and manage risk, and introduce a top-down, value-driven approach that allows risk professionals to move beyond compliance to serving the C-suite and enhancing shareholder value.”

“Enterprise Risk Management: What Top Management Wants from its ERM Program” takes place on Wednesday, July 9, from noon-1 p.m. EST. Two C-suite advisors will take risk professionals through a case study of one company that views risk as an opportunity and competitive advantage. Participants will take away steps to successfully implement a value-driven ERM approach.

Presenters in the session are Dr. Robert Mark, author of The Essentials of Risk Management and former chief risk officer at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce; and Dr. Carl Spetzler, CEO of Strategic Decisions Group.

The webinar is free to all participants.
