Pair of Small Quakes Shake San Diego Area

A pair of small earthquakes hit around the San Diego area today, shaking areas of Riverside and San Diego counties.

The initial quake, which was reported at 4:35 a.m., was measured at a 4.1 magnitude, and a second, 3.8-magnitude earthquake was reported in the same locale about five hours later, at 9:41 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The epicenter for both temblors was situated 10 miles north of the Palomar Observatory and about 15 miles east of Temecula in the Cleveland National Forest.

No injuries or damages were reported from either earthquake.
