The initial quake, which was reported at 4:35 a.m., was measured at a 4.1 magnitude, and a second, 3.8-magnitude earthquake was reported in the same locale about five hours later, at 9:41 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The epicenter for both temblors was situated 10 miles north of the Palomar Observatory and about 15 miles east of Temecula in the Cleveland National Forest.No injuries or damages were reported from either earthquake.
