New Online Service Gives Homeowners Protection

Texas-based eProoft (http://www.eprooft.com) has created a system for homeowners to use in uploading images of their home inventory and valuables, and storing them securely online.

Homeowners upload digital images, receipts, and other scanned items to document the replacement costs and serial numbers of valuables in case they are lost due to natural disaster or theft.

eProoft CEO, Erik Vicars (https://www.eprooft.com/website/our-team.php), noted that losing your personal belongs can be devastating, whether the value is sentimental or financial. From robbery to natural disasters, tragic events happen, and the difficulty of remembering all of your possessions and filling out an insurance claim can be almost too much to endure.

Research with consumers and insurance agents indicated that homeowners are concerned with storing images of their valuables online, thinking that someone could potentially access this information. eProoft has addressed this concern, however, and has no way of tracing information to a particular client other than an email address. "We do not record any payment information or any personal data at all. We use Pay Pal for all subscription payments, which ensures that their database and ours are never linked with personal information," said Sales Director, Jerri Conrado.

Insurance agents are partnering (https://www.eprooft.com/alliances/alliances.php) with eProoft to provide this service to their clients.

"We have always suggested that our clients have photos or videos of their possessions. However, some clients store those same images in their home or local bank. We've learned over the last few years that natural disasters can still affect these areas too, so the online storage is a real key for our clients," said Cynthia Southerland, owner of Southerland and Associates (http://www.saprotects.com) Insurance firm. Her firm is one of the first alliance partners for eProoft, and is purchasing subscriptions for some clients, and offering discounts for others to encourage them to use the eProoft system.
