A Washington restaurant in the Olympia area is suing the state Department of Natural Resources following a mudslide that destroyed the facility.
The Ranch House BBQ restaurant has filed a $2.5 million claim after the business was totaled last December when a massive wall of mud and debris came down a hillside and into the restaurant.
The owners of the restaurant stated that the state failed to properly maintain the state-owned land above the restaurant resulting in the landslide during a storm last December.
Along with seeking monetary damages, the restaurant owners also want the state to take action to ensure the hillside is stabilized.
